The Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards

| Presented annually since 1967, the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards are among the most prestigious honors in the field of children's and young adult literature. The winners and honor books, announced on June 6, 2011, are selected from three categories: Picture Books, Fiction and Poetry, and Nonfiction. The event at Simmons College includes the awards ceremony with speeches from the honorees, followed by an autographing session and a celebratory reception. |

Horn Book at Simmons Colloquium

| Back by popular demand, our second annual Horn Book at Simmons colloquium will bring together librarians, educators and children's literature professionals to examine the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award winners. This day-long event includes talks, panel discussions and small group sessions to explore how books for children and teens interpret the world for young readers as well as new strategies for bringing young people and books together. |

Parking for Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards—Friday, September 30th
Parking will NOT be available on the Simmons campus for the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards. We encourage you to take public transportation to Simmons. Limited parking is available at other garages in the area.
Parking for the Horn Book at Simmons—Saturday, October 1st
There will be limited, fee-based parking on the Simmons campus for the Horn Book at Simmons event. Please let us know if you would like to park on campus and we will reserve spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do not have a reservation with us, you will not be able to park on campus.
